In rural usage contexts, 3G/4G connections drop frequently. If net drops after payment but before callback, the order is lost.
We inverted the flow. Orders are created in the DB as 'PENDING_PAYMENT' *before* the user is even redirected to the gateway.
Razorpay webhooks confirm success server-to-server. Even if the user's frontend connection dies, the order creates successfully.
Eliminated the 'money cut but no order' issue entirely. Incomplete orders are auto-recoverable or expire gracefully.
